The Annual Report for 2022 was approved by the Board in July 2023, but the publication has just been distributed. In a foreword to the report, our Chair Dr. Jordi Cortina-Segarra outlines the reasons why 2022 was a special year for ecological restoration. We are facing unprecedented challenges but also opportunities. “In June 2022, the European Commission presented its proposal for a European Union nature restoration law. This much-needed law could completely change the restoration scene in Europe.”  SERE’s Ecological Restoration Conference in Alicante mobilised a petition of over 1300 supporting signatures by scientists and practitioners that later in 2023 grew into a massive public campaign for the restoration law. The #RestoreNature campaign in 2023 will no doubt be among the highlights of this year.

Delve into the details of our journey during the past year. The full report is available here. This comprehensive document highlights the significant achievements, impactful projects, and milestones that have shaped our organisation over the past year.
