We’re thrilled to invite you to Adelaide in October 2026 for a week celebrating your innovation, collaboration and leadership shaping ecological restoration across Australasia.
Our theme, Connected Restoration, Inspired Action, captures the spirit of this moment in the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. It speaks to the strength we find in connection across disciplines, communities, cultures and landscapes and to the power of shared knowledge in turning vision into action. As we look ahead to the next four years, this theme calls us to unite with purpose, amplify one another’s efforts, and accelerate the collective momentum needed to restore ecosystems across our region.
This year, the Society for Ecological Restoration Australasia (SERA), the Australasian Coastal Restoration Network (ACRN) and the Cooperative Research Centre for Transformations in Mining Economies (CRC TiME) are joining forces to bring three major events together in one city and one week. This alignment creates a rare and exciting opportunity to connect, learn and collaborate in deeper ways, reducing travel demands while immersing our community in the landscapes, culture and creativity that define South Australia.
One of the highlights of the program will be the co-designed mine restoration stream that will shine a light on the science, practice and partnerships driving restoration across mined and post-mining landscapes. Through our collaboration with ACRN, the week will also shine a spotlight on marine and coastal restoration, with conversations that connect land and sea in a shared restoration dialogue
We can’t wait to welcome you to Adelaide for this special gathering of restoration experts, community leaders, scientists, practitioners and partners all united by a shared commitment to repairing the ecosystems we depend on.
