A Week of Global Restoration Action Hosted by the Society for Ecological Restoration

Make a Difference Week 2026, hosted by the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER), and SERA will be held from May 30 to June 7, 2026. This 6th Annual Make a Difference Week aims to mobilise over 10,000 volunteers for ecological restoration.

Volunteering Australia is also celebrating National Volunteer Week from 18 to 24 May 2026, with the theme “Your Year To Volunteer.” This theme not only honours the contributions of volunteers but also encourages people across Australia to make 2026 the year they get involved and make a difference.

Get Involved

There are two ways to get involved with Make a Difference Week – either by hosting a volunteer restoration event during the week, or by volunteering with a local restoration event near you. Learn more about how to get involved below.

Make a Difference Week aligns with World Environment Day, 5 June 2026. We encourage you to also consider registering your event as part of World Environment Day.

To date, 825 restorative events have been hosted as part of Make a Difference Week!
