2013 STUDENT GRANT RECIPIENTS:

SERNW is excited to announce that Colin Maher and Sarah Kidd have each received a $750 grant for their ecological research in the Pacific Northwest.

Colin Maher, a PhD student at the University of Montana, is studying the role of drought stress in whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) mortaility in the northern Rocky Mountains. Sarah Kidd, a PhD student at Portland State University, will use the grant to her help fund her work: Modeling Restoration Techniques of Oligohaline Tidal Wetland Ecosystem Services in the Pacific Northwest: A Study of Young’s Bay Tidal Reconnection Projects.

Congratulations to both and best of luck on your research!  We look forward to hearing about your work at a future SERNW conference!
