Call for Speakers for ‘Lessons Learned’ Session at the 2021 SER World Conference

Dear Chapter Member:

We invite you to let us know if you are interested in participating in a session at the SER world conference! We are organizing a Lessons Learned session, to take place online in June 2021.

We invite speakers who can highlight restoration projects where they learned lessons while implementing restoration projects. We are looking for speakers with projects from throughout the NW region. We hope to showcase a variety of projects from across our region and from within diverse ecosystems. We will select 3-6 speakers willing to talk about their project and challenges which arose, who will thenparticipate in a Q & A panel about lessons learned to help other practitioners increase their success.

You may find more conference details here: http://www.ser2021.org/

Speaker Guidelines:

Speakers should plan on speaking about their project for 15-20 minutes, and may incorporate visual elements such as photos, a power point presentation, or pre-recorded video.
Speakers should be prepared to answer audience questions during an interactive Q & A on a panel with other speakers after their presentation.
Session organizers will schedule specific start and end times and breaks to accommodate all speakers and session elements.

Please send us an email at sernw@ser.org indicating your interest in participating in our panel by 1/20/2021. The session organizers will select which proposals will be included in the conference by 1/24/2021 .

Please include the following information in your email:

Your contact information, including an email and phone number.
Short description (no more than 200 words) explaining how the proposal relates to the theme of lessons learned from restoration projects implemented in the northwest region.
Brief explanation (no more than 50 words) of your qualifications for speaking about ecological restoration (for example, your academic or professional experience, or SER certification).
Verification of availability during the conference (June 21-24, 2021)

Last but not least, we also hope to organize a day-long chapter symposium (not as part of the conference) explicitly focused on long term planting success and survival challenges in the northwest region this year. Please also let us know if you are interested in being considered as a speaker for that symposium.

We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you!

Sincerely,

The SER NW Chapter Board
