Hello!
It’s nice to meet you all. I am honored to serve as the SERNW Board President, and look forward to working with all of you enthusiastic and wonderful people over my term. As you can probably tell, we have a lot going on, thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers. I found myself quite inspired by the award winners stories and hope to apply some of their ideas to my work in the Skagit. I hope that you are able to join us at our upcoming annual members meeting on 11/12 – we’ll be sharing more information about our work and about how to get involved with SERNW at whatever level you would like. We are also looking for feedback from our members on what programming is most effective at helping us meet our mission to promote ecological restoration to restore and sustain the diversity of life in the Cascadia Bioregion.
Like many of you, as we transition into a time with less daylight, I hope to use my longer evenings to catch up on some restoration reading. This week, I’ve been making my way through Emma Marris’ Rambunctious Garden, which has been on my list since she spoke at the 2019 UW Botanic Garden Ecological Restoration Symposium. I’d love recommendations for what to dive into next – please feel free to post suggestions on SERNW’s facebook page where I and other SERNW members can see them.
Thank you!
Regina Wandler
SERNW Board President
