The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s River Studies Center is excited to announce that the 2027 Wisconsin Trout Stream Restoration Workshop will move from its August timing to January 13, 2027. Because the workshop is currently offered online, January gives us the flexibility to gather outside of the busy field season—making it easier for faculty, students, practitioners, and other professionals to participate. It also provides a natural opportunity to reflect on lessons from the previous field season and look ahead to restoration priorities and projects for the coming year.

Call for Proposals

The Wisconsin Trout Stream Restoration Workshop brings together scientists, resource managers, and restoration practitioners to explore how stream, riparian, wetland, and watershed processes influence trout habitat and guide restoration decisions.

We welcome proposals featuring:

  • Research findings
  • Applied projects
  • Case studies
  • Lessons learned

Presentations that connect science to real-world management and encourage cross-disciplinary discussion are especially encouraged.

Proposals due: Nov. 11, 2026; Notification date: Nov. 20, 2026
