Boundary Bay, BC Sand Dune Stewards for Canada Parks Day

July 18, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Come celebrate Canada’s Parks Day by helping in the ecological restoration of Boundary Bay Regional Park. This park sits along one of the major migration routes for birds along the Pacific Coast, making it a valuable stopover site for thousands of birds every year. It also is home to one of the most rare and threatened habitats in the Lower Mainland – coastal sand dune ecosystems! Scotch broom is invading this important ecosystem and we need to remove it to maintain a healthier ecosystem.  Why not come out and help pull these tenacious plants out?  We will meet at the north end of the gravel parking lot at 10:00am.

If you are interested in learning more abotu the park, drop in to the Low Tide Loungers event running from 1- 4:00 pm  Explore the beach and learn more about mysterious creatures of the sand and sea. Visit sea side stations in and around Cennial Beach.
