The LERS Board is pleased to share our revised Charter, which reaffirms our commitment to ecological restoration and the growth of our international membership. This updated document clarifies our mission, governance structure, and guiding principles, ensuring greater transparency for our members and stronger alignment with SER’s mission.

When the current LERS Board was formed nearly two years ago, we were surprised by the limited organizational memory passed down. This posed significant challenges, prompting us to reassess our governance model to prevent this issue from recurring. Our goal was to create a more dynamic structure where new board members could integrate smoothly, learn from their predecessors, and contribute to ongoing initiatives—rather than having to “start from scratch”. To achieve this, we introduced a rotating board system, in which six members remain for an additional year while six new members join, ensuring the continuity of knowledge and organizational capacity.

This updated document has been approved by SER. We invite all members to review the Charter and join us in advancing our shared vision for restoring and protecting ecosystems all over the world.
