12 Week Course Starts Monday, January 4, 2016

Learn about the variety of bird species in Fish Creek Provincial Park and other natural areas in Calgary through the Friends of Fish Creek Winter Birding Course. Birds are now easier to see since the deciduous trees have shed their leaves, there are fewer species present and they often occur in large flocks. “In fact, there may be more individual birds present within Calgary during the winter than in the summer months,” said lifelong naturalist Gus Yaki, who, along with other experienced birding instructors, conduct these outings as a fundraiser for the Friends of Fish Creek.

Each outing is approx. 2.5 hours. Start times Monday – Thursday: 9:15am
Saturdays: 9:00am, Sundays: 9:00am or 1:15pm Choose to come 1 or 2 days / week

Each week the Instructor will email the students for that week’s meeting location.

Fee: Once a week outing, Friends of Fish Creek Members: $60.00, Non-members: $100.00. 

Twice a week outings, Friends of Fish Creek Members: $100.00, Non-members: $150.00

Youth 16 years of age or younger with registered adult: $5.00

All courses are conducted outdoors.
