Private Land Conservation Potential in the North Columbia Area

December 5, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free Public Workshop in Revelstoke, BC
Dec 5, 7pm at the Revelstoke United Church

Note: In light of a number of conflicting events taking place on Nov 29th, we have changed the date of this workshop to Dec 5th.

This is the second workshop associated with the Mid-Columbia Ecosystem Enhancement Project, and all are welcome to join in on a discussion to explore private land conservation initiatives in the North Columbia region.

Juliet Craig, program manager with the Kootenay Conservation Program (KCP), will explain the various ways that private land conservation can be achieved and explore the interest in expanding KCP’s programs into the North Columbia Mountains.

Ecosystem conservation on private land is one way to protect clean water, preserve important wildlife habitat, and steward the land to allow for healthy, functioning ecosystems. Since 2002 the Kootenay Conservation Program (KCP) has helped to support partners in conserving over 250,000 hectares of land and invest over $150 million into conservation projects across the east and west Kootenays.

We are grateful for funding support from the KCPFish and Wildlife Compensation Program and the Columbia Basin Trust.
