Prairie Pothole Area Clean Up & Mapping Field Day
27 June 2015 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm MDT
Characterized by large tracts of native prairie and numerous potholes and lakes, the Missouri Coteau is vital for breeding waterfowl, especially northern pintail. These prairie pothole wetland areas are also critical for migrating shorebirds. The Mortlach Property, generously supported by Mountain Equipment Co-op, houses an old corral that could be potentially hazardous to humans and animals alike and invasive species that need to be identified, mapped and controlled.
Amid piling up old fence posts there will surely be time do sit back and enjoy the surrounding area that is teeming with wildlife.
