Coastal Shores as Living Systems

April 8, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Come learn about shorelines with marine ecologist Leanna Boyer! Leanna will explain the different shoreline types, near shore ecosystems, and how energy works on shorelines. She’ll also discuss climate change impacts on the nearshore, as well as tools and resources to care for the shore. Leanna has been actively engaged in training and supporting community groups to map and monitor eelgrass and bull kelp habitat since 2002 and has volunteered and worked on eelgrass restoration projects. She works as a biologist and project coordinator for SeaChange Marine Conservation Society.
