Bioengineering Volunteer Opportunity

The Elbow River Watershed Parnership is partnering with the Greater Bragg Creek Trails Association and Backcountry Trails Flood Rehabilitation Program on some bio-engineering, some trail work and trying a new (to us) product, Flex MSE which was generously donated for this project.
We are looking for up to 15 volunteers. This is manual outdoor labour. We will be planting willows, installing a wattle fence and filling and stacking the bags with soil.
Plan-
9:30am meet in West Bragg in the South parking lot. (the main parking lot is under construction)
safety talk for 15 minutes
9:45 start walking to the site
Please join us and be prepared to walk or bike 1.6km to the trail site of a popular intersection.
To bring:
- work gloves
- hand pruners (if you have them)
- outdoor clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, be prepared for all types of weather
- water to drink
- a shovel (if you have one)
- a bucket
We will bring:
- coffee and a snack for all volunteers
- planting poles
- willows
- other hand tools
