July 28, 2017

Kicking off our first public habitat restoration of this gorgeous conservation covenant, Habitat Acquisition Trust is seeking volunteers to aid in the removal of Arcangel Lamium.

This site is located in Metchosin. As a private property protected for conservation, it is only accessible through this special event. For more informationa and to sign up please send an email to volunteers@hat.bc.ca

Ivan Island is not an island geographically, with a delightful misnomer it is an island of peace for those that visit and for the original landowner who has sadly passed on. It is named in his memory and truly a remarkable legacy.

The sight of Cripple Creek and riparian habitat that flowers into Pedder Bay, towering Garry Oak bluffs with a host of wildflowers, and a swath of Douglas Fir forest, protecting this place and maintaining it’s values is not only important it is rewarding.

As always, Habitat Acquisition Trust provides the training and tools, you bring yourself and the appropriate clothes you need for a great day in the great outdoors. It’s always fun if you invite a friend too so don’t be shy!
