The countdown is on! In 150 days—on June 5, 2017—Canada will host World Environment Day, the largest single annual event for celebrating positive environmental action.

This event, led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), is marked by thousands of communities worldwide. The theme for this year’s World Environment Day “Connecting People to Nature” is an opportunity for individuals across Canada and around the world to discover their natural environment and to appreciate the benefits of healthy ecosystems.

World Environment Day will be an important part of Canada 150 celebrations. Canada and its international partners, including UNEP, are planning many events in the 150 days leading up to, and on, June 5.
