Pub talk in Jackson, WY

September 10, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

We are excited to announce our next pub talk will be in Jackson, Wyoming!

Mine tailing reclamation in Yellowstone’s Soda Butte Creek

presented by Dr. Andrew Ray (Yellowstone National Park)

Mining operations are the primary source of heavy metals entering Yellowstone’s creeks.  The McClarenMill, a gold mine, had issues with tailings overflowing downstream from Cooke City (MT) into Yellowstone National Park.  Dr. Ray will discuss Yellowstone’s efforts to improve water quality and restore areas impacted by this operation.

Thanks to the Wyoming Reclamation and Restoration Center (WRRC), our co-sponsor, for helping make this event possible.
