Nominations open for CeRSER Board of Directors

CeRSER 2018 Call for Election Nominations

 

It’s that time of year again!  The Central Rockies Chapter of SER would like to announce our call for Board of Director nominations.  Please consider nominating yourself or a fellow member for these important positions—yes, you may nominate yourself and are encouraged to do so!  We need to assemble a slate of candidates before Friday, April 6th and hold an election by email in mid-April.  If you have questions about time commitments, job duties, etc., feel free to contact any of the current CeRSER Board of Directors for more info about duties and responsibilities (https://chapter.ser.org/centralrockies/about/board/).

 

This year we have 5 positions up for election:

  1. Vice President, term April 2018-2020—This important position succeeds our current President, Brett Wolk, with the aim of providing board continuity.  The Vice President/President-elect shall assume the duties of the President in the absence or upon the inability of the President to serve, and shall perform any duties assigned by the President.  Current VP/President-elect Mark Paschke will assume the Presidency this April; at the end of Marks’ Presidency in 2020, the newly elected VP/President-elect shall assume the position of President through April of 2020.  Interested in running for this position?   2. Secretary, term April 2018-2020—The Secretary shall be responsible for recording the minutes of all meetings and the issuance of meeting minutes and of the maintenance of the membership records.
  3. Communications, term April 2018-2020—This committee shall maintain the CeRSER web site and other electronic media, and shall produce and distribute notices of Chapter events, and other printed and electronic materials that further the Chapter objectives and activities.
  4. Membership, term April 2018-2020— This committee shall work to encourage and maintain the maximum number of persons residing or working within the Chapter’s geographical limits to become Chapter Members.
  5. Outreach, term April 2018-2020—This committee shall organize public lectures, workshops, and festivals and shall work with the Treasurer to solicit external support for such activities.

 

Note:  Two student representatives are also being sought, however they will organize their own elections per our bylaws.

 

Election Timeframe:

  • Nominations will be accepted now through April 6 – please send nominations to Megan Bowes (bowesm at bouldercolorado.gov)
  • April 9 – Ballots emailed
  • April 20 – Voting ends
  • Week of April 23– new board positions announced

 

These are great opportunities—don’t delay in announcing your candidacy!
