The Society of Ecological Restoration—Midwest Great Lakes Chapter is seeking a part-time program manager to support our all-volunteer Board of Directors.

  1. Monthly Salary: $15K Annually (25% position). Paid monthly. No benefits.
  2. Commitment of two years of funding, renewed annually.
  3. We are seeking someone who has both a knowledge and interest in the field of restoration ecology and/or conservation biology. However, this is an administrative role—not a technical one.
  4. Duties (in order of priority):
    a. Support the planning and execution of Chapter’s Annual Meeting. There would be a board member as Chair for the annual meeting; the PM would be responsible for the execution and coordination along with the Annual Meeting Committee. (Estimate 50% time.)
    b. Coordinate monthly Chapter meetings with the President.
    c. Work with the board to:
    i. Achieve goals of the strategic plan.
ii. Increase state/area based SER—MWGL activity and presence.
iii. Carry out selected restoration-information and data synthesis efforts to fulfil the Chapter’s role as a regional leader in providing restoration information.
iv. Grow Student SER Associations in the Midwest (currently 3) in conjunction with board members.
    d. Develop a long-term strategy to fund a Program Manager position through grants funding and Chapter events, including the annual meeting.
    e. Participate (table/exhibit) at key regional events to promote the Chapter (again, in conjunction with board members).
