Ecological Restoration Supervisor

MP Engineers has an immediate position available in our ecological services division working on NYC Parks restoration projects. The Resident Engineer will work closely with contractors in the field to supervise and verify project objectives. The RE will measure, map and document contractor accomplishments and problem solve implementation when needed. Close communication is maintained with NYC Parks Foresters and contractor supervisors as the RE is the on-site supervisor for the project.

Desirable Skills: Field identification of native and invasive plants, field measuring and mapping, photo documentation, knowledge of invasive species and removal techniques, planting techniques, native plant communities/ecology, and familiarity with common field tools are desired. GPS mapping and AutoCad knowledge are a plus. Ability to work independently, prioritize and quickly assess when assistance and guidance are needed.

Hourly rate negotiable depending on experience. Project sites are located in Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx. Reliable transportation necessary.
