The Society for Ecological Restoration’s Great Basin Chapter is offering funding for student research on restoration ecology. The studies can be completed in any ecosystem found within the Great Basin including shrublands, wetlands, alpine, forests, riparian, etc. Awards will cover up to $1000 to support studies taking place in Summer 2023.

Application procedure

Submit the following, as a single PDF, to mark.brunson@usu.edu no later than May 299 to receive full consideration.

  • A one-page research proposal, including how the proposed research will provide new scientific insight with management relevance for Great Basin ecosystems, and detailed methodology for the proposed research
  • A detailed budget, with a breakdown of costs
  • A half-page description of the student’s biography, including future career goals and how the summer research will contribute to overall career path
  • Student’s CV, including degree program information (school, department, degree, major, advisor)
