On behalf of the Convention on Biological Diversity, we are sharing the following call for volunteers to help facilitate the new Massive Open Online Course on Ecosystem Restoration, and information on how to register for the course. Opportunities to volunteer for the MOOC are only available to current SER members.
In September 2021, with your valuable contributions and support, The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Convention on Biological Diversity with input from the Society for Ecological Restoration and others, launched a self-paced course on Ecosystem Restoration. The course served as an introduction to Short-Term Action Plan on Ecosystem Restoration (STAPER). Since then, the course has gained over 4,600 registrants.
Given the high interest in the topic, this year we are pleased to offer a FREE facilitated Massive Open Online Course on Ecosystem Restoration in English, French, and Spanish. So far, the MOOC has attracted over 8,000 registrants. Learn more and register here.
The course will be offered in two parts and will be open to everyone. It will consist of 8 weeks with the overall objective to build capacity to plan and implement restoration strategies.
