Please join us for our annual PRSSS Fall Field Tour on September 30 – October 1, 2017. This year we will be exploring the soils of part of the North Cascades region. The tour will provide us an opportunity to explore various soil types found in this area such as Andisols and Spodosols. The geology of Northern Washington primarily features folded metamorphic rocks that have been fractured over time by volcanic eruptions from the Cascade Volcanoes including, Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainer, and Mt. St. Helens. There will be plenty of stops along the way to observe the soils, glacial landforms, and evidence of volcanic activity which all contribute to the unique landscape of the region.

Camping is included in the tour price for the evening of September 30. Participants will be expected to purchase or bring their own meals, with the exception of some snacks over the course of the tour and dinner on September 30 which will be provided by the PRSSS.  Transportation will be provided to participants coming from Canada. Participants coming from the USA are requested to organize their own transportation.
