Silverton Super FUNDays

August 5, 2016 - August 6, 2016

The Town of Silverton is happy to announce its inaugural Super FUNDays on August 5th & 6th 2016.  Silverton has chosen to come together and commemorate the anniversary of the Gold King Mine Spill and upcoming Superfund Status in a new annual event to showcase our positive moves towards addressing damage to the watershed and its effect on our community.  These activities will be a fun way for us to recognize the anniversary each year and also provide updates to the public on the current status of water quality and the Bonita Peak Mining District Superfund Site.

There will be interactive information booths from the Environmental Protection Agency, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Mountain Studies Institute, San Juan County Public Health, Trout Unlimited the Animas River Community Forum and more! Friday night features a Family Movie at Silverton Town Hall and a “Superfund” themed Bar & Restaurant Crawl around Silverton.  Saturday features a number of great activities in Memorial Park.  There will be a 5K Color Run ending in a party at Memorial Park featuring local Silverton musicians and performers, field day activities for all including a water slide, bouncy house, and life-size foosball as well as traditional games.
