Synopsis:
Land reclamation and ecosystem restoration efforts are critical to mitigate land disturbance caused by natural resource extraction. Insects are typically understudied in restoration, even though they provide many critical ecosystem services such as pollination. Dr. Douglas Smith, University of Wyoming, will give a brief presentation on issues and challenges associated with restoration of lands in the Pinedale and Jonah gas fields, including findings about how pollinators are responding to restoration efforts in the area. There will be time for networking and discussion before and after the presentation.
