The City and County of Denver is working toward becoming a Certified Community Wildlife Habitat city through the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) by the end of 2019. This process is creating wildlife habitat gardens, open spaces, parks, etc. throughout the city while increasing awareness of their benefits for people, wildlife and water.

These efforts, spearheaded by the Department of Parks and Recreation, are in partnership with The National Wildlife Federation, Denver Water, Denver Public Schools, Denver Botanic Gardens and the Colorado Wildlife Federation. This coalition will collectively engage and partner with residents, businesses, schools and other stakeholders to beautify and enhance the places where Denverites spend most of their time.” (nwf.org)

Join us as Vicki Vargas-Madrid from Denver Parks and Recreation tells us about Denver’s efforts and answers questions about the process.
