The next CSRN is scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, May 14, 2014, and will share information on ideas and resources for final preparations for spring runoff, particularly in areas where we are still vulnerable from post-September flood impacted conditions. The ½ day line-up looks like this:

Location: City of Longmont Utility Center – 1251 S. Bowen St.

CSRN Runoff Preparation Knowledge Transfer Workshop

  • (8:30-8:40a) Welcome and Intro
  • (8:40-8:50a) Overview of Flood Recovery Efforts
  • (8:50-9:10a) Peak Flow Estimates
  • (9:10-9:30a) Snowpack update: what does it mean and not mean?
  • (9:30-9:50a) Weather Forecasting: current technologies, resources, and limitations
  •  (9:50-10:10a) NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) update – Phase 1 and 2

Hear from leaders working to protect different flood-affected corridors during spring runoff – engage in interactive discussion on available protection and education efforts – and share your own ideas on what you see being used…or what you wish we were using! Nothing is taboo – let’s talk about useful studies, treatments, new products, technical resources, funding programs, myths busted, crazy-like-a-fox alternative ideas, and more…anything to help prepare not only our properties and infrastructure, but also our stream corridors themselves, for spring runoff.

As always, we are first come-first served and this time will be limited to 65 people in the room. Please carpool if possible.  Parking is limited.

Reserve your seat here.
