Dan Gregory was a respected restoration ecologist, botanist, and former board member of the Society for Ecological Restoration – Ontario (SERO). Known for his deep ecological knowledge, quiet mentorship, and unwavering integrity, Dan played an important role in advancing ecological restoration practice in Ontario. Through both his professional work and his volunteer leadership with SERO, he supported evidence‑based restoration, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the next generation of practitioners. Dan’s legacy continues through the landscapes he helped restore and the many colleagues he inspired.
