#Ashfall uses photos of wildfire ash contributed by community members to reference against radar measurements with the goal of modeling fire-generated tornadic vortex formation. This also offers an opportunity for the public to participate in wildfire-focused research.

Those who live, recreate, or work in areas that receive wildfire ash are invited to participate.

Volunteers contribute photos of wildfire ash with a reference object for size and the ash’s location.
