Biol<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please Note:<\/strong>\u00a0This event is listed on the ASPB Website as a &#8220;BBL&#8221; (Brown Bag Luncheon) but is actually being held in the evening.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Akhter&#8217;s presentation will be a gentle introduction to chemical, ecological, and physiological\u00a0concepts of phytoremedition, and provide thought-provoking consideration of the\u00a0strengths and drawbacks of plants&#8217; ability to sequester, alter and redistribute metals in a variety of ecosystems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Presenter:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The topic of phytoremediation is one that is near and dear to Dr. Akhter&#8217;s heart and has informed much of her research\u00a0career.
