Happy carpooling!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"event-details__column event-details__column--right\">\n<div id=\"mapdisplay\">\n<div class=\"gm-style\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><strong>More Information<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<section class=\"more-information\">\n<div class=\"more-information__column more-information__column--left\"><span class=\"more-information__header\">About Blind Canyon<\/span>Conserved in partnership with Alberta Conservation Association (ACA)\u00a0and Alberta Fish and Game Association (AFGA), Blind Canyon is scenically located along the front slopes of the Rocky Mountains, southwest of Twin Butte. The property, originally\u00a0purchased by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation of Canada, was acquired by NCC, ACA and AFGA in 2009 when the foundation closed its Canadian operations.<\/p>\n<p>Two creeks flow through the property, which\u00a0 features an old homestead site from the 1920s. The property is also part of a key movement corridor for wide-ranging carnivores, such a grizzly bears and wolverine. This area along the\u00a0Rocky Mountain slopes\u00a0is a haven for a diverse range of plant life as well.\u00a0Nine rare species\u00a0have been documented on the property,\u00a0including limber pine and mariposa lily.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"more-information__header\">What you will be doing<\/span>In partnership with the Castle Crown Wilderness Coalition, we will be tackling our first volunteer-powered weed pull at an old farm site in the front ranges of Blind Canyon.
