Rd. 1\u20131)\u00a0for registration, coffee and snacks (<a href=\"http:\/\/oldmanwatershed.us11.list-manage1.com\/track\/click?u=1029c240adb877e57116c1158&amp;id=33bd6b1f8d&amp;e=dc6b472ef7\">click <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/oldmanwatershed.us11.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1029c240adb877e57116c1158&amp;id=66ddf87b08&amp;e=dc6b472ef7\">for map directions<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is an open invitation to all residents of the Town of Pincher Creek, the M.D. of Pincher Creek and Oldman watershed citizens who just want a new experience to remove noxious and invasive weeds along our creek. Come prepared to pick weeds and return to the staging area for beef, beverages, prizes and conversation.<\/p>\n<p>Bring your own bagged lunch, drinking water, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, sturdy shoes and lawn chair(s) for afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>Please do not bring your dog.\u00a0<strong>Absolutely No Dogs, Please!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Some reminders for Volunteers<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Walk forwards, but take a look backwards too; blueweeds sprout just after you walk by!<\/li>\n<li>Glance away from the creek to.\u00a0Most plants are within 15 m of the creek, but there are places where they may be 100 m away hidden in willows, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Wandering aimlessly, with a partner may work well for you.<\/li>\n<li>Make a note with the team leader, to identify locations of outbreaks so that the land owner (or MD crews) can return and take action with a sprayer.<\/li>\n<li>Watch for rosettes (1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0year plants) and try to dig them out with shovels.<\/li>\n<li>Try to avoid carrying weeds in bags with holes as this may spread seeds.<\/li>\n<li>Keep track of all bags and ensure they are all returned to staging area.<\/li>\n<li>This is a competition, so please record the number of full bags on your crew signup sheet when you return.<\/li>\n<li>Always respect private land.<\/li>\n<li>Awards will be presented for the Biggest Wreck, Determination and of course the prestigious Bent Back Award.
