Join NCC staff in removing old fencing and cleaning up debris at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.natureconservancy.ca\/en\/where-we-work\/manitoba\/stories\/manitoba-more-than-prairies.html\">Elk Glen<\/a>\u00a0project just south of Riding Mountain National Park. Located in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.natureconservancy.ca\/en\/where-we-work\/manitoba\/our-work\/riding_mountain_aspen_parkland_natural_area.html#.VSfmivB0d9Y\" target=\"_blank\">Riding Mountain Natural Area<\/a>, this project supports a diverse array of habitats from fescue prairie to mixedwood forest, swamps to Oak Savannahs and is home to bears, moose, wolves, and, of course, Elk.<\/p>\n<p>After the clean up, join staff in a hike through some beautiful fescue prairie and learn more about this rare grassland and its management.<\/p>\n<p>Lunch will be provided. Sturdy but comfortable closed-toe shoes are recommended, as well as long pants and long-sleeved shirts that can get dirty. Water, sun-screen, bug spray and gloves will be provided. The event will proceed rain or shine.
