Parks Canada BioBlitz – Victoria

May 22, 2015 @ 4:00 pm - May 23, 2015 @ 4:00 pm

Parks Canada needs your help to identify as many species as possible over 24 hours! Comb 54 hectares, from rocky and sandy beaches near the lighthouse to Garry oak forests and flowering meadows near the fort. Access lands not usually open to the public. Help support Parks Canada’s conservation efforts. Registered participants can camp for free at Parks Canada sites (space limited). Spend a weekend outdoors with like-minded people. Have some fun!

The BioBlitz will include species surveys (registration required, space limited, most suited to families
with children over 10) and fun drop-in activities (no registration required, suitable for all ages, schedules available soon).
Species observations will be recorded with smart phones and digital cameras. Download the app from: www.inaturalist.org

Everyone is welcome, from professional scientists, student specialists and naturalists to families and individuals with no expertise but lots of enthusiasm.

Register Online or call 250-478-5849
