Formed by SER student members at universities and academic campuses, the SER Student\u00a0Association Program allows students studying ecological restoration and related fields to come together to connect, share resources, and mobilize as the next generation of restoration professionals.<\/span><\/h5>\n
The program was established in 2007\u00a0and has grown to include 40 student\u00a0associations across the United States.\u00a0Each\u00a0association is sponsored by a faculty advisor and engages in a variety of activities each year such as career fairs, volunteer opportunities, and workshops<\/span>. Annual cost of a campus SER chapter is $260 and includes <\/span>standard individual membership for one faculty advisor member and 50 <\/span>student<\/span>s, along with a listing on the global webpage. We also provide the SER <\/span>Student<\/span> Association logo for you to use to promote your <\/span>student<\/span> association and membership with SER<\/span> . Each student gains global SER and TXSER membership, with all access to online resources, including the job board.<\/span><\/h5>\n
TXSER has official student chapters at the University of North Texas, Rice University, Stephen F. Austin University, and Texas A&M University.\u00a0If you are interested in starting a new student chapter, email <\/span>Dr. Jaime Baxter-Slye at <\/b>jaime.slye@unt.edu<\/b><\/a>. Dr. Baxter-Slye serves as the <\/b>faculty advisor for the UNT chapter and the TXSER Student Liaison. TXSER offers a new student chapter a first year membership scholarship.<\/span><\/h5>\n
We also have an undergraduate and graduate student representative on the board. See the Board of Directors list to find out who the current student reps are and contact them for more information about the benefits of membership for students!<\/span><\/h5>\n
