TXSER is a regional chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER), and when you join SER, you can choose TXSER as your affiliate chapter. As a TXSER member, you are entitled to all of the benefits of our parent organization. These include a subscription to the journal Restoration Ecology, discounts on registration for international, continental and regional conferences, training opportunities, access to networking opportunities through SER Connect and the member directory, and more! A full list appears on SER’s member website here.
When you join as a member of the Texas Chapter, you receive additional regional and local benefits (such as access to our newsletter and discounts on our events) and support our advancing restoration ecology science and practice on the state-level. Networking is an important function of TXSER, bringing together restoration practitioners and researchers across Texas and our bordering states to share ideas, experiences, and problems. This exchange of knowledge increases the effectiveness of our members to do great restoration work! We do this both through regional events, such as volunteer days and discussion groups, and through an annual conference, which rotates locations around the stater.
We encourage you to join both SER and TXSER to be involved in restoration issues and activities from the local to international level. Click here to join and be sure to check Texas as your chapter affiliate!
SER currently has a low-cost Open Doors program to encourage membership for students, early career professionals, and other under-resourced individuals who work in restoration. Find out more about this program here.
We look forward to meeting you!
