{"id":586,"date":"2019-05-20T18:13:36","date_gmt":"2019-05-20T18:13:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chapter.ser.org\/southeast\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=586"},"modified":"2019-08-08T14:00:10","modified_gmt":"2019-08-08T14:00:10","slug":"southeast-chapters-2019-symposium","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/chapter.ser.org\/southeast\/event\/southeast-chapters-2019-symposium\/","title":{"rendered":"Southeast Chapter&#8217;s 2019 Symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Registration for the meeting:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ser.org\/events\/EventDetails.aspx?id=1245478&amp;group=\">https:\/\/www.ser.org\/events\/EventDetails.aspx?id=1245478&amp;group=<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Call for abstracts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You are invited to submit an abstract for presentations as part of technical sessions at \u201cRestoration &amp; Resiliency: Restoring Disturbed Ecosystems of the Southeast\u201d and annual meeting of the Society for Ecological Restoration Southeast, to be held Oct. 24-25, 2019 at the <a href=\"https:\/\/oxbow.columbusstate.edu\">Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center<\/a> in Columbus, GA.<\/p>\n<p>Please see <a href=\"https:\/\/chapter.ser.org\/southeast\/event\/southeast-chapters-2019-symposium\/\">https:\/\/chapter.ser.org\/southeast\/event\/southeast-chapters-2019-symposium\/<\/a> \u00a0for conference details.<\/p>\n<p>We invite submission of oral and poster presentations on topics related to resiliency in ecological restoration including the restoration of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Specific animal species, populations, or communities<\/li>\n<li>Specific plant species, populations, or communities<\/li>\n<li>Wildlife habitat<\/li>\n<li>Wetlands and other aquatic ecosystems<\/li>\n<li>Marine and coastal ecosystems<\/li>\n<li>Streams and riparian zones<\/li>\n<li>Eastern grasslands<\/li>\n<li>Forests and other upland ecosystems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Abstracts are <strong>due August 1st, 2019 by 5:00 pm EST<\/strong> <strong>(deadline extended to August 15<sup>th<\/sup>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please submit abstracts by e-mail to Stacey S. \u00a0Blersch, blersch_stacey@columbusstate.edu (<\/strong>Authors will be notified of acceptance by August, 25<sup>th<\/sup>); include \u201cSoutheast SER 2019 Abstract\u201d in the subject line of the email.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workshops or special sessions<\/strong>. Anyone wishing to propose a 1-3 hour workshop or special session should submit an outline to Stacey Sloan Blersch by July 25<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract Guidelines. <\/strong>All abstracts should include the following: 1) Title; 2) Author names and affiliations (please indicate corresponding author, and whether presenting author is a student); 3) E-mail address for correspondence,; 4) Mailing address; 5) Phone number; and 6)\u00a0 preference for oral or poster presentation. Body of abstract should be no longer than 250 words, and include a brief introduction, description of the project for case studies or methodology for research studies, and summary of results. Oral Presentations will be 20- 30 minutes each. Posters will be available for viewing during breaks, and during a poster session when presenters should be available.
