Provide excellent technical expertise to internal and external clients.\u00a0 Occupational Health and Safety is a major responsibility of this position.<br \/>\n<strong>Knowledge:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4 Year University Degree or equivalent in biology, or related environmental science program;<\/li>\n<li>5 years of experience in managing environmental projects and programs;<\/li>\n<li>Complete knowledge of terrestrial and aquatic ecology, habitat restoration, fish and wildlife management, environmental monitoring techniques;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of regulatory legislation, policies and procedures relevant to habitat restoration and environmental monitoring projects;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent customer, stakeholder or client relationship management skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent analytical and report writing skills;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Summary of Major Tasks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Design, manage, and implement habitat restoration projects, resource management programs and initiatives for the TRCA Restoration Projects Division.<br \/>\n2. Provide project management, including project design and work plan development, budget preparation, and cost control.<br \/>\n3. Develop and maintain effective liaison with other agencies, community groups, and the general public.\u00a0 Facilitate and coordinate stakeholder meetings, and public consultation.<br \/>\n4. Assist with the preparation of project proposals, partnership agreements, and other non-traditional sources of funding to assist in achieving Restoration projects objectives.<br \/>\n5. Analyze and interpret environmental information and prepare technical reports, communications, project approvals, and prepare management plans.<br \/>\n6. Hire, supervise, and evaluate the performance of full time staff, seasonal staff, contractors and consultants.<br \/>\n7. Coordinate the collection of terrestrial and aquatic information including, habitat assessments, resource inventories, natural heritage assessments, as well as fisheries, wildlife and environmental quality summaries.<br \/>\n8. Supervise the safe operation and maintenance of Restoration Services Equipment, including construction equipment and heavy machinery.<br \/>\n9.
