Awardees will be recognized on Friday, October 12, as part of the 2018 regional conference.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">The SER New England Chapter (SER-NE) wishes to recognize outstanding individuals, organizations, agencies, and teams working in the field of ecological restoration within the Chapter\u2019s geographical region (the six New England states and upstate New York). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">Any member in good standing of SER-NE may make a nomination, including self-nominations, for work or research completed.\u00a0 Nominations require the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">A cover letter including the name of the nominee, their affiliation, and the award that person is nominated for.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #073763\">Documentation of the fulfillment of the criteria for the relevant award.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">One or more letters of support documenting the nominee\u2019s contributions to ecological restoration in the Chapter\u2019s region.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">Additional supporting documentation, photographs, or project\/achievement descriptions are encouraged to support the nomination.\u00a0 Letters of support from outside the nominee\u2019s organization are strongly encouraged.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">Nominations should be sent to <a href=\"mailto:\/\/mtoohill@bscgroup.com\">Mike Toohill<\/a>, the chair of the SER-NE Awards Committee, via electronic submission.\u00a0 Nominations should be received no later than August 1, 2018 (<span style=\"color: #008000\">EXTENDED<\/span>: New deadline is August 24, 2018).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">The Awards Committee will determine if an award in any category will be given, and will select the award recipient(s).\u00a0\u00a0<span class=\"contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_1329_1399\" role=\"button\">Awards will be presented at the SER-NE <a href=\"https:\/\/chapter.ser.org\/newengland\/2018-regional-conference-overview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2018 Conference<\/a> on Friday, October 12, 2018.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">For any questions regarding these awards, or for additional details about the conference, please contact the <a href=\"mailto:\/\/mtoohill@bscgroup.com\">Awards Committee Chair<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\"><b>The award categories are:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">1. SER-NE AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN RESTORATION. To be awarded to a person, team, organization, agency, or project representing excellence in ecological restoration. \u00a0This award can be given for project implementation or for published research or writings pertaining to ecological restoration work within the SER-NE geographical region.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">2. SER-NE AWARD FOR A RESTORATION PROJECT.\u00a0 To be awarded to a public, private, or non-profit ecological restoration project.\u00a0 Preference will be given to projects implemented more than two, and less than ten, years ago, which has made a significant contribution to ecological restoration in the SER-NE geographical region.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">3. LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD. For the recognition of an individual\u2019s work to promote or implement ecological restoration in the northeastern United States, or for outstanding research in ecological restoration in the northeastern United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 0.5em\"><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: #073763\">In addition to the awards listed above, it has been the Chapter\u2019s privilege to recognize the important role of emerging professionals by presenting student awards at past conferences.\u00a0 The Chapter will continue this tradition of providing <a href=\"https:\/\/chapter.ser.org\/newengland\/2018-regional-conference-overview\/student-opportunities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">student awards<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/chapter.ser.org\/newengland\/2018-regional-conference-overview\/student-opportunities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at the 2018 conference<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Call for Nominations: SER-NE Restoration Awards UPDATE: The Call for nominations is now closed.
