The Chapter will award two grants (one Research, one Implementation) of up to $2,000 each. The Research Grant will be awarded to an eligible student for research supplies, travel, equipment and other needs. The Implementation Grant will be awarded to an eligible student, student group, or student-oriented group for supplies, travel, equipment, outreach materials, and other items to support implementation of restoration practices. Award winners will receive waived annual meeting registration (limit 1 per award) for the 2021 Annual Chapter Meeting.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><strong>Application:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligibility \u2013 All undergraduate and graduate students who are members of the SER Midwest-Great Lakes Chapter*\u00a0and attend institutions of higher education within the regional boundaries of the SER MWGL Chapter. The proposed\u00a0work must occur within the SER MWGL Chapter regional boundaries.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants should clearly state the grant award type (Research or Implementation) for which they are applying.<\/li>\n<li>Proposal (3pgs) \u2013 Proposals should not exceed 3 pages (no smaller than 11pt font with 1\u201d margins), including all text,figures and literature cited. Proposals must clearly describe how the funds will be used, the need for the funds, and how the proposed activities support the Chapter\u2019s mission. Proposals should include the following:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Research Grant<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 Introduction \u2013 Provide scientific justification and significance of the research and specify research\u00a0questions, objectives or hypotheses.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 Methods \u2013 Detail the experimental design, site locations, data collection methods, and statistical\u00a0analysis.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 Anticipated Results &amp; Discussion \u2013 Explain anticipated results and potential interpretation and\u00a0address how the results can be applied to further our understanding of the science and practice of\u00a0ecological restoration.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 Literature Cited \u2013 Follow the format of Restoration Ecology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Implementation Grant<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Introduction \u2013 Provide an overview of the restoration project and the specific objectives for how the\u00a0planned activities will be implemented with the requested funds.
