University of Nevada, Reno Student Chapter<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Restoration Ecology Club at the University of Nevada, Reno, aims to provide educational
\nand networking opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students interested in restoration
\necology through field trips, workshops, and volunteer events. We host events or meetings every
\nmonth, where our members can meet and network with restoration practitioners and scientists,
\nwhile also providing hands-on experience with the planning and implementation of projects. We
\nwere founded in Fall 2021, and have already organized numerous field trips and volunteer days.
\nAny University of Nevada, Reno student is welcome to join the club, and Reno community
\nmembers may join the listserve and participate in events. We are actively seeking speakers,
\nplaces to visit, and volunteer events for our members.<\/p>\n

Our current leadership team consists of faculty advisor Dr. Beth Newingham, president Ranae
\nZauner, vice president Aramee Diethelm, treasurer Otis Clyne, and secretary Laura Shriver.<\/p>\n

Utah State University Student Chapter<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The newly established USU student chapter met on September 17, 2022, where they volunteered alongside the Bear River Land Conservancy to plant wetland and upland native pollinator-loving plants at a meadow preserve in Mendon, UT.<\/p>\n

Brigham Young University Student Chapter<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This student association has been working towards restoring two sites along the Wasatch Mountain Range. They began by cold stratifying the seeds of around eight native forb and shrub species last month. More recently, they chemically and mechanically scarified about 12 more native species in preparation for seed propagation and seedling transplant. Species include:<\/p>\n
