Bien que la restauration \u00e9cologique suscite une attention sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent pour faire face aux crises mondiales telles que la d\u00e9gradation des sols, la perte de biodiversit\u00e9 et le changement climatique, l’\u00e9conomie de la restauration est encore mal comprise et insuffisamment document\u00e9e. L’objectif de ce\u00a0 webinaire est de discuter des b\u00e9n\u00e9fices et les lacunes de ce nouveau domaine de recherche en documentant l’\u00e9conomie de la remise en \u00e9tat et de la restauration des paysages d\u00e9grad\u00e9s\u00a0 (R&R) dans l’ouest du Canada (en Alberta et en Colombie Britannique). Le webinaire sera diffus\u00e9 en fran\u00e7ais avec des diapositifs en fran\u00e7ais, avec l’option des sous-titres en anglais par IA.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nicolas Mansuy, Ph.D est chercheur au Service canadien des for\u00eats du Centre de foresterie du Nord (CFN) \u00e0 Edmonton et professeur adjoint \u00e0 l’Universit\u00e9 de l’Alberta et \u00e0 l’UQAT. Il a r\u00e9cemment travaill\u00e9 avec la Commission europ\u00e9enne dans le cadre du mandat BIOmass, de la loi europ\u00e9enne sur la restauration de la nature et du r\u00e8glement sur les produits exempts de d\u00e9forestation (EUDR). Il est \u00e9galement membre du groupe de travail des Nations unies sur les meilleures pratiques visant \u00e0 concr\u00e9tiser la vision de la D\u00e9cennie des Nations unies pour la restauration des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes (D\u00e9cennie des Nations unies).<\/span><\/p>\n

Although ecological restoration has attracted unprecedented attention in response to global crises such as land degradation, biodiversity loss and climate change, the economics of restoration is still poorly understood and insufficiently documented. The objective of this webinar is to discuss the benefits and gaps of this emerging field of research by documenting the scope, scale and areas of interest of the economics of rehabilitation and restoration (R&R) in western Canada (Alberta and British Columbia). The webinar will be in French with French slides, with the option for AI generated English subtitles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nicolas Mansuy, Ph.D is a researcher with the Canadian Forest Service of the Northern Forestry Centre (Edmonton) and an assistant professor at the University of Alberta and UQAT. He recently worked with the European Commission in the context of the BIOmass Mandate, the EU Nature Restoration Law and the Regulation on Deforestation-free products EUDR. He is also a member of the UN Task Force on Best Practices to help achieve the vision of the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (UN Decade).<\/span><\/p>\n
