Commitment / Aim

  1. Promote ecological restoration and the principles of ecological restoration as outlined in the Primer of the Society for Ecological Restoration International.
  2. We aim to encourage practice in all areas related to ecosystem restoration.
  3. We try to facilitate dialogue among restorationists both scientists and practitioners, by organising conferences.
  4. We promote the establishment of student interest groups at universities and colleges in the Chapter’s service area.
  5. We aim to provide Africa with easy opportunities to network for interested individuals globally through the Society of Ecological Restoration (the parent).

SER-Africa Objectives

The Association is a non-profit organisation established for the following public benefit objectives:

  1. To promote the exchange of information related to ecological restoration.
  2. To develop ecological restoration as a science, art and conservation strategy.
  3. To educate the general public, public agencies, private groups and institutions on ecological restoration.
  4. To advise and consult with public agencies, non-profits and the general public regarding improvement of standards and criteria for ecological restoration.
  5. In addition, SER Africa can execute all activities which directly or indirectly contribute to the realisation of the before mentioned objectives, including commercial and remunerative activities.
