SER-Great Basin and SER-Northwest Regional Conference

OCTOBER 6- 10, 2014     Eagle Crest Resort, Redmond, Oregon

This conference will be a gathering of scientists, restoration professionals, and government
agencies involved in restoration issues in the Cascadia and Great Basin Bioregions
with a focus on the unique 
challenges of ecological restoration projects in these regions.

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE
Shrub-Steppe and Woodland Restoration – sage grouse habitat, annual
weeds/successional 
restoration, western juniper watershed restoration,
weather and climate applications, 
and climate change

Watershed Restoration – local watershed councils, water quality and quantity, multiple
ecosystem functions, watershed status and trend, and effectiveness monitoring

Forest Restoration – dry forest systems, fire risk and insect disturbance, collaborative
restoration projects, and accelerated restoration

Restoration Plant Materials – genecology, seed zones, climate change, plant selection,
increase procurement, climate change and plant material, seed growers and production,
and disturbance ecology and biological crusts

Stream Restoration – physics before fish, applied fluvial geomorphology, wood in steams,
side channel restoration, and steam monitoring

Prairie Restoration – habitat restoration, collaborative projects, plant reintroduction
and monitoring

Restoration of Soils – mycoremediation, soil conservation, and mine reclamation
